HEADLINES PRESS ROOM REALITY CHECK HOUSE BUSINESS LEGISLATION STANDING COMMITTEES Keeping our streets and communities safe posted on 24 Nov 2011 Last evening, our Government got closer to adopting the Safe Streets and Communities Act when it was passed by the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights. Getting Things Done: Justice Legislation posted on 04 Oct 2010 Just recently, households in Niagara West-Glanbrook would have recieved a pamphlet from my office detailing the legislation put forward by our Government to crack down on crime in Canada. In addition to guiding the Canadian economy through the global recession, our Government has committed to protecting Canadian families by getting tough on criminals. The Bills below are aimed at furthering the safety and well-being of hard-working Canadians. We are promoting new law and order bills and responsible refugee reform. Our Government will continue to stand up for law-abiding Canadian families, for safer streets, and for better justice for all Canadians. This legislation is aimed at electing Senators, increasing representation in the House of Commons, ensuring accountability for political loans, increasing voter participation, and imposing Senatorial term limits. Our Government is hopefuly that this legislation will recieve broad support from across party lines so that all Canadians will benefit from increased representation and political accountability.
