Smithville Manufacturer Creating More Jobs

Smithville –Dean Allison, Member of Parliament for Niagara West is pleased to announce that Stanpac Inc., Smithville’s largest employer will be expanding its production capacity and creating up to 50 new permanent manufacturing jobs.


Stanpac is being offered a loan of up to $4.5 million by FedDev Ontario to integrate advanced manufacturing processes and add four new production lines. The company is presently operating at near capacity.


Allison said, “Stanpac is a Canadian manufacturing success story. At at time when other companies have been reducing their production capacity, Stanpac has been expanding its operations”

All Party Entrepreneur Caucus Hosts Successful Inaugrual Meeting

Last Wednesday evening, in the middle of Small Business Week, more than 25 Members of Parliament, including two Ministers, along with dozens of members from the business community attended the inaugural All-Party Entrepreneur Caucus meeting in Centre Block.


This meeting was co-chaired by NDP MP Gord Johns (Courtenay-Alberni), Conservative MP Dean Allison (Niagara West) and Liberal MP Ruby Sahota (Brampton North) and was attended by MPs from all three major parties.  It was also co-hosted by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) and the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC),  key partners of the Caucus who have long facilitated MPs of all stripes working together to support small business.

Responding to the Agricultural Water Crisis

BEAMSVILLE –Dean Allison, Member of Parliament for Niagara West is championing the cause to find a long term solution to the water crisis faced by farmers during a drought. Allison held a round table meeting of key industry stakeholders from the tender fruit, grape growing and greenhouse industries in Niagara.


“Given that we’re dealing with one of the worst droughts on record, we need to find a way to help farmers survive,” said Allison. “It’s ridiculous that we live between two Great Lakes and have a shortage of water.”

DA: Debate Speech on the Budget

Mr. Dean Allison (Niagara West, CPC): Mr. Speaker, I want to take the opportunity, since this is my first chance in the House to actually spend more than 60 seconds asking questions or doing S. O. 31s, to thank my constituents for the opportunity to represent them again in Niagara West for the fifth straight time. I certainly want to thank all the volunteers who helped out and those who created donations, because we realize campaigns do not work unless we have finances to make those happen.
